THINGS TO DO
Endcliffe Park is the largest open space in the area, complete with children's play area, cafe and lake, and dates back to 1887. Also nearby are Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Sharrow Park and Chelsea Park. Brammall Lane is close for football fans and Sport Sheffield at Crookes Valley Park isn't far.
EATING & DRINKING
The Greystones is the pub in the area and is a large space with live music. On Ecclesall Road you have The Banner Cross and The Prince of Wales pubs along with Napoleons casino & restaurant, Le Bistrot Pierre, La Luna and Ambar Tandoori.
In Greystones there is the popular La Bicicleta workshop, Squirts children's clothing, a large Co-operative Food, pharmacy, opticians, bank and post office. As you head up Ecclesall Road to the city centre, there is the "Golden Mile" and Sheffield is full of high street names.
Greystones Primary School is local and nearby you have Ecclesall Infant School and High Storrs School - the latter for secondary education.
Set off Ecclesall Road, Greystone is ideally situated for both heading into Derbyshire and the Peak District as well as affording easy access for commuters to Sheffield. Buses are frequent to the city and the airports of East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Robin Hood are between half an hour and 90 minutes away.
Once part of Barnsdale Forest, part of the Robin Hood legend, this area of Sheffield was agriculturally based with farming and corn mills before the 19th century. It began to grow at this time and the huge expansion of Sheffield during the Industrial Revolution saw the population balloon. Today, it has good links to the city and attracts a variety of people.
