HISTORY
The town of Doncaster has an important history and Barnby Dun was first documented in the Domesday Book as 'Barnebi'. The church shows where the original Saxon settlement was and the High Street was a later development. There are a few cottages that have survived the ages and it was home to Thorpe Marsh Power station from 1959 to 1994 - the towers of which were demolished in 2012.
