Oakwood Community Fun Day to raise funds for Leeds charity
Preston Baker is pleased to be one of the businesses in Oakwood that have come together to organise a Community Fun Day raising money for the Leeds United Foundation charity which enhances the lives of people across the Leeds area through opportunities in sport, education and healthier lifestyles.
The Oakwood Community Fun Day will take place on Saturday April 29th, 10am until 4pm, and there will be food, entertainment and games for the whole family. The Roundhay Open Art Trail is on at the same time, so people can combine the two events.
Fun day for the whole family
“We have a really fun day planned for the whole family and it’s been great to see all the businesses of Oakwood join together to get behind the day,” said Paul Bolster, owner of Tasty Kitchen & Coffee shop in Oakwood, one of the businesses involved with organising the day.
Paul added: “It’s a celebration of the people and businesses that make Oakwood great. The aim is to create a brilliant day out while raising funds for a terrific charity which supports health, wellbeing, education, and sports participation for all across the Leeds area.”
Big raffle
Local businesses are putting on special events for the day, there will be all kinds of music and entertainment, and there is a big raffle with prizes including Leeds United v Tottenham tickets, a signed and framed Leeds United shirt, an overnight stay in a holiday cottage, hampers, fizz, gym membership, afternoon tea, £200 hair voucher, vouchers galore, plus much more. Tickets are on sale now at £1 each at Oakwood businesses and will also be available on the day.
Leeds United Foundation
Leeds United Foundation, launched in 2010, uses the power of Leeds United to support and inspire those who live in the local area. It does this through a range of activities including health and social education in primary and secondary schools, community volunteering, and sports participation for everyone. It enables young people to make Positive Choices™ about their lives and futures, and combats loneliness and sadness for all age groups including with its Corner Flag Café, Veterans group and over 50’s social club.
