The site is situated to the North of the village of South Otterington, close to the well-connected and popular market towns of Northallerton and Thirsk. South Otterington is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is located on the A167 road 4 miles south of Northallerton and on the east bank of the River Wiske. For the commuter there is access to the A19, A1M and arterial roads leading to the larger conurbations of Leeds, Teesside, York and Harrogate.
