House prices in Doncaster increased more than the Yorkshire average in August, new figures reveal.

House prices in Doncaster rose by 1.7 per cent in August, and this increase contributes to the longer-term trend, which has seen the prices of property in the area grow by 9.9 per cent during the last year.

The average price of a Doncaster house was £166,700 in August, Land Registry figures show. This is a 1.7 per cent increase on July.

Elsewhere across Yorkshire and the Humber the picture was different, with prices up 0.8 per cent, and Doncaster was also above the 0.9 per cent rise for the UK as a whole.

Average sale price of property in Doncaster up £15,000

During the last year, the average sale price of property in Doncaster increased by £15,000. This places the area 17th among Yorkshire and the Humber’s 21 local authorities looking at price data for annual growth.
