HISTORY

The Battle of the Winwaed took place is this area in 655 AD and the Battle of Seacroft Moor in 1643 was fought between here and Bramham Moor. Most of the history we know about the area is that it was agricultural but this part of Leeds changed in the 1950s when neighbouring Seacroft was turned into a "satellite town" for the city. Today, it is mainly a residential area used by commuters.
